Zirconium Propionate (ZPP) is used as an adhesion promoter in flexographic and gravure printing inks to improve adhesion, heat resistance and scrub resistance to difficult substrates used in flexible packaging such as polypropylene, polyethylene, polyester and aluminum foil.

Zirconium propionate (ZPP) is a white free-flowing powder with a propionic acid odor.
It is readily soluble in ethanol, ethyl acetate and isopropyl alcohol. It is insoluble in water.
